Music Leadership Training

  • Oxford Museum of Natural History (Annexe) Parks Road Oxford, England, OX1 3PW United Kingdom (map)

Tandem Collective and Flotsam Sessions host a hands-on day of musical leadership training.

Music in Tandem projects bring together musicians from different countries, cultures and musical backgrounds  to exchange, collaborate and learn from each other. Tandem Collective’s Starling Sessions and Flotsam Sessions offer collaborative, diverse and international musical experiences which champion cross-cultural friendship and respect.

Join facilitators from these projects in a day-long workshop that will explore the skills needed for leadership and facilitation in a musical context. The training will include how to build a good group dynamic, how to teach and learn by ear and ways of facilitating peer-to-peer learning. Lots of these skills are transferable and useful in non-musical contexts as well!

This workshop is ideally suited to musicians with some experience of musical workshop facilitation or those looking to expand their practice into facilitation.

The day will involve participatory workshops, role playing, and group discussions, and music-making.
